At the end of the 60's, the italian publishing company Atomic Rocket Comics commited itself to a full round artistic project, drawing esthetic inspiration from the most colourful styles coming from overseas and from the tradition of the national noir comic book genre, also known as "fumetto nero". Through the making of comic books and pitcure stories as well, and several gadgets too aimed at entertaining the readers, Atomic Rocket produced stories of masked super heroes and its content was very extreme and cruel, and it was made even more appealing by a fine esthetic choice.
Unfortunately, the religious and political organizations of that time found such products unbearable, because Atomic Rocket Comics started a real cultural fire and its impact on society was massive. And, alas, it was a real arson (a malicious one) to bring to a financial bankrupt the company, causing all the creative team involved in this project to disappear into anonymity, leaving behind themselves, in the years to follow, a trail of mistery. And nothing more.
Years passed by, and suddendly, a bunch of collectors started tracking down the "Lost archives" of Atomic Rocket in order to revive the legend and making it available to the public once again. So they went and searched among the ruins and the remains of the publishing company's headquarters, and found evidence of it existence; and then they retrieved all of the material they managed to find in order to bring it out of the darkness where it had been buried in , and to show it once again to the fans, giving new glory to these amazing characters.

Alla fine degli anni ’60, la casa editrice ATOMIC ROCKET COMICS si dedicò ad un progetto artistico a tutto tondo, che percorreva i riferimenti educativi ed estetici in voga all’epoca riferendosi ai più colorati stilemi provenienti da oltre oceano ma anche alla tradizione nazionale del fumetto nero. Tramite la realizzazione di giornalini a fumetti e fotoromanzi, e una miriade di gadgets per la nascente industria dell’intrattenimento, produsse storie di super eroi mascherati dal contenuto estremo e crudele, il tutto legato da un gradevole senso estetico.
Purtroppo il perbenismo dominante nel nostro Paese ritenne insostenibile tale prodotto che aveva la forza e l’impatto di un vero e proprio incendio culturale. E fu proprio un incendio (doloso) ad innescare un tracollo economico che portò ad un rapido fallimento ed alla scomparsa nell’anonimato di tutto il team artistico, lasciando dietro di sé, negli anni a seguire, un alone di mistero. E nulla più.
A distanza di anni, un manipolo di collezionisti si è messo alla ricerca di materiale che potesse tener viva l’esistenza di questa leggenda editoriale. Avventuratisi tra ciò che rimane di quella casa editrice, sono riusciti a trovare prove di quello stimabile passato, riuscendo a recuperare dell’inestimabile materiale di quella serie di personaggi, che viene ora riproposto per farlo fuggire dalle nebbie dell’oblio, riportandolo al grande pubblico e alla dovuta gloria, per il piacere di nuove schiere di fans.

Who really is Mastermind ? The last survivor of an ancient race whose origins are lost in the mists of time , his gigantic figure and his skeleton-like face inspire awe and fear in the people who look at him, even though, despite his looks, he's one of the most valiant defenders of this planet, always ready to fight against the terrible evil forces and monsters coming from the underground , also known as Zarkonians. The weapons he uses to pulverize his enemies are his trusted stick, that he uses to throw powerful light rays at them, and his helmet, that shoots devastating and deadly thunderbolts.
Chi è veramente Mastermind ? Ultimo superstite di un’antica razza le cui origini si perdono oltre la nascita dell’uomo, la sua figura gigantesca e il suo volto scheletrico incutono timore e terrore ai più, sebbene in realtà sia uno dei più strenui difensori del pianeta terra, sempre pronto a combattere contro i terribili mostri demoniaci provenienti dal sottosuolo, conosciuti come Zarkoniani. Le armi con cui polverizza i suoi nemici sono il suo fidato bastone, da cui lancia dei potenti raggi di energia, e il suo casco, che spara devastanti fulmini mortali.

John Milton is an ex policeman, who fell into an ambush as he was trying to thwart a robbery in a typography. Struck by his assailors, he fell into a machinery (container) that mixes glue with printable paper; reported dead, he comes back instead as Paper Man, a half human, half papery being, turning himself into a feared and ultra violent private detective, whose only purpose in his life is to have his revenge upon those who made him become what he is now: THE WHITE DEMONS' clan, his mortal foes who spread crime and instill fear in his town.
John Milton è un ex poliziotto, caduto inun’imboscata mentre sventava un colpo in una tipografia. Colpito, dopo esser caduto dentro un macchinario che mescola carta tipografica e colla, viene creduto morto. Risorge invece come Paper Man, un essere per metà umano e per metà cartaceo. Diviene così un temutissimo e violentissimo detective privato, la cui unica priorità è farsi giustizia di coloro che lo hanno fatto diventare ciò che è ora, la setta dei White Demon, i quali diffondono il crimine e la paura nella sua città.

ATOMIC ROCKET COMICS - SHADOW BOY
The kid who comes straight from the land of the shadows, he's got a special ability to slip out of the darkness at his will (and therefore, to slip back into it as well). He wears colored glasses because is native world is in black & white, and through them he has the chance to see this reality in color. He fights crime and injustice mostly at night, he is totally allergic to light. He is gifted with a great sense of humour, he usually likes cracking jokes and terrorize people just for fun, especially beautiful girls.
Il ragazzo che arriva direttamente dalla terra delle ombre, la cui capacità è quella di entrare ed uscire dal buio a suo piacimento. Indossa degli occhiali colorati perchè il suo mondo è in bianco e nero, e tramite loro ha la possibilità di vedere la realtà che lo circonda a colori. Combatte il crimine e le ingiustizie essenzialmente di notte, è totalmente refrattario alla luce. E' dotato di uno spiccato sense of humour, gli piace sovente fare scherzi e terrorizzare le persone per gioco, soprattutto le belle ragazze

Lydia is a beautiful girl, witty and sensual. Ever since she was born she had the power to hypnotize and control everyone who stared into her eyes, (the doctor and the nurses who attended her birth, are reported to be her first victims: in fact, they all passed out and fell to the floor after looking at her), and ever since that moment she had to put on glasses made with special lenses. Growing up, she found out she had another special power, consisting in the ability to emit mental waves. She has developed a strong sense for justice, always trying to help the others. Of course, she has got a huge collection of glasses she's very proud of.
Lydia è una splendida ragazza, frizzante e sensuale; dal momento della sua nascita si è scoperto che aveva il potere di ipnotizzare e porre sotto il suo controllo chiunque la guardasse negli occhi (il medico e le infermiere presenti al parto, furono subito succubi dei suoi splendidi occhi, accasciandosi per terra), da allora ha dovuto indossare sempre degli occhiali con lenti speciali.
Crescendo, ha scoperto di riuscire a sprigionare e controllare onde mentali, e da qui, la presa di coscienza di dover aiutare la società e il prossimo. Ovviamente, ha un’infinita collezione di occhiali di cui è molto fiera.

Their father , Harry Gold, a famous scientist, has created the infamous SHRINK MACHINE: its function is to shrink human beings and to give them special powers at the same time. After several attempts, he succesfully tested the machine on his kids. But his arch-rival, Professor Sadist (who will change his name to DOTTOR MORTE - Doctor Death) kills him in order to steal his invention. It will be up to the two super powered kids, with some very special help from their mom, to carry on their very personal fight against evil and to avenge their father's death.

We don't know, but thanks to him all the people of this galaxy can sleep in peace.
Un abile e coraggioso bounty killer. Le sue origini si perdono nello spazio infinito, le stelle sono la sua casa. Solitario e abile con il fulminatore, cerca di portare giustizia in tutte le galassie. Suoi compagni fidati sono le armi e il suo space skate. Il suo casco oltre a proteggerlo e ad avere molte funzioni elettroniche al suo interno, cela la sua vera identità, cʼè chi dice per nascondere unʼatroce verità…sarà umano, robot, alieno ? Non lo sappiamo, ma grazie a lui i popoli della terra possono dormire sonni tranquilli.

He's the one who subverts the natural laws and forces of the galaxy, and his goal is to seize the very essence of space. Behind his humanoid looks, hides a highly sophisticated robot, totally sentient, possesed by evil. Iron Mask is his lethal enemy, who always tries to oppose his nasty plans. But Doc Actom is tough as hell and, apparently, he doesn't seem to have any weak points, and this is the very reason why Iron Mask is always searching for Actom's true origins: maybe, if he could figure out where he comes from, the Mask might be finally able to destroy the Actom
Colui che sconvolge le leggi naturali delle galassie, con lo scopo di impossessarsi della vera essenza dello spazio. In realtà le fattezze del suo corpo umanoide celano un sofisticatissimo robot, perfettamente senziente, in cui prevale il male. Iron Mask è il suo letale nemico, che cerca sempre di contrastare i suoi malefici piani. Ma DOC. Actom è un osso duro, che pare non avere punti deboli, ed è proprio per questo che Iron Mask è alla costante ricerca della sua vera provenienza. Forse, scoprendo da chi e dove è stato creato, riuscirà a distruggerlo completamente.
